Company Site ID
The Company Site ID is a unique identifier that will identify all of your comparison services that you create. The Company Site ID is chosen by Affiliate Compare once your application has been accepted.
The product type is the type of products you want to display in your service. These can be Books, DVDs or any other product category.
A service contains a product type e.g. DVDs that you may display on a certain web site, each service has it's own unique Site ID, which is your tracking ID.
The service type selection is either Embedded or Popup.
Selecting Popup means you only have to place a search box on your site and Affiliate Compare will host your search and comparison results in a new popup window after your user has used the search box, you are not restricted to only using a searchbox though, you can create links to search queries and link directly to any product.
Embedded will mean that you need 2 template PHP pages on your site, one to display the search results on and the other to display the comparison results on. Embedded results will be placed directly into your site pages.
Both options allow you to tailor the look of your result pages and give them the look and feel of your own sites.
A site ID is completely unique across all of Affiliate Compare, this ID identifies your service and is used yo track your sales and commissions. The ID is made up of your Company Site ID and then a hyphen '-' plus a mix of either 3 characters or numerics that you choose.
Once a site ID has been chosen it cannot be changed. You can delete the service that contains the Site ID but that will mean losing any sales commissions that were gained using that Site ID.
